On December 30, 1999, a large shipping container of relief supplies collected from the Imam Boukhari Mosque in Los Angeles was sent to Afghanistan with ARO assistance.

The generous donations of the Imam Boukhari Mosque included:
• More than 1200 pairs of girls and boys shoes
• 150 boxes of winter clothing
• Women’s clothing
• 30 boxes of tents for shelter
• Bedding for a new hospital
• More than 200 blankets

A total of 419 boxes—filled with donations from the Afghan American community and American charity organizations—were delivered and distributed by the ARO in Afghanistan.
